Bible Study |

The force and power in the word of God is so great that it stands
as the support and energy of the Church, the strength of faith for her
children, the food of the soul, the pure and everlasting source of spiritual
life. -- Vatican II: Constitution on Divine Revelation

Our Bible study meetings have been held continuously since February 1998. The group meets Tuesday mornings at 9:30 am in the church hall for one hour, followed by social time. The goal is to learn more about the Word of God and to become better followers of Christ through understanding of the Word. The ultimate goal is to become better witnesses to God, to help others to know more about God, to understand how God wants us to serve Him and to set an example for others by how we live.

The meetings begin with music, meditation and prayer, followed by scripture study. Members of the group then share their thoughts on the passage being studied. The study concludes with music and spontaneous individual prayer. Assignments are given to members for the text to be studied the next week. Each member will study the text assigned and bring their thoughts to the group the following week. The group uses study guides from Neighborhood Bible Studies.

Members who participate leave feeling uplifted by the word of God and renewed by a sense of community from the sharing of thoughts and prayers.
