SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT dePAUL
FOOD PANTRY: The next food pantry will be on September
2, 2008.
SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DEPAUL GOLF TOURNAMENT:
The society will be hosting its 10th annual golf tournament on Wednesday,
August 20th, 2008 at the Foster Country Club. 100% of the proceeds
will be used to help the needy in our area. For more information,

OF OUR LADY: This Friday is the Feast of the Assumption.
A vigil Mass will be celebrated at 7 pm on Thursday, August
14th, and 7:30 am on Friday, August 15th. Please join us.

August 11th, is a state and diocesan holiday (Victory Day).
The parish office will be closed on Monday.
The office is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and

25th, 40th, 50th, AND OVER
WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: The Office of Marriage
Preparation and Enrichment of the Diocese of Providence is sponsoring
the second annual Wedding Anniversary Celebration on Sunday,
October 19, 2008 1:00 pm at the Cathedral of SS. Peter &
Paul, Providence. Married couples who are celebrating their
25th, 40th, 50th and over wedding anniversary in 2008 will be
honored at this celebration. Couples who would like to attend
can to register for this event through their parish before September
19th.
The Wedding Anniversary Celebration will include Mass, renewal
of marriage vows and a personalized certificate for each couple.
Following the Mass, the Office Marriage Preparation and Enrichment
will host a reception for the couples and their families.
Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will be the main celebrant and homilist.

The parking area between the rectory and the church is designated
for handicapped parking for the parish. Please refrain from
parking in this area during the weekend masses, leaving this
area available for any parishioner or visitor who is in need

AT ST. ANTONINE will be holding open
houses every Friday at 2 pm during the month of August. Tours of
the facility, refreshments and entertainment will be offered. For

EMBRACE YOUR FAITH CONFERENCE:
In honor of
June 2008-2009 being named the year of St. Paul, St. Patrick
Church, 244 Smith St., Providence, RI will sponsor a day presented
by Sr. Marie Noel Keller, R.S.M. on Saturday, September 6,
2008 from 9 am to 2 pm.
For the past 28 years Sr. Marie Noel has been the Executive
Director of the Institute on scared Scripture at Misericordia
University in Dallas, Pa. Sister's topic "St. Paul, Pastor
in Practice" will focus on who St. Paul is as opposed
to whom many people think he is - Misconceptions vs. Reality.
Sister will use two of St. Paul's letters, Philippians and
1 Corinthians, to show St. Paul the Pastor in practice. The
$10.00 registration fee includes lunch. Please make checks
payable to St. Patrick Church. Include your name, address
and telephone number and send to St. Patrick Church, 152 Holden
St., Providence, RI. No tickets will be mailed.
